Day 2

We must be still in the wrong time zone, woke up at 5:00am and couldn't get back to sleep.

At 6am we went for a run towards Hyde Park, passed a lot of Embassies which were very nice buildings and a nice part of London. After breakfast we headed off to the Tower of London and were there till 1pm. Crown jewels were very impressive, one diamond was bigger than a golf ball.

We thought it would be a good idea to get a phone card before the next stop, big mistake! We have already tried 3 shops without success, no iphone 4 sim cards. First the train stopped in the tube due to an accident further up, when we finally got out of there went to The Strand and found the vodaphone shop shut. Then back on the on the tube to Oxford Circus and that shop didn't have iphone sims. Finally got one at an O2 store, seems to work but haven't called anyone due to the time zones.
Bond Street, Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus were packed this afternoon, streets were blocked with traffic, we got off a bus because it was quicker to walk.

Travelled back towards our hotel and had dinner in a nice Italian restaurant just a few streets away, the food and service were exceptional, nice finish to a busy day.

Arrived in London

We have landed in London after a long 25 hour travelling time, that's from Melbourne to Heathrow not including to and from airports! Got to our room at 9pm (6am aust time)

After checking in at the Hotel we had dinner across the road at the Shakespeare Hotel which had typical pub meals, fish and chips seem pretty popular pub meals here. By the time we got back to our room it was after 10pm so that was enough for us for one day.

Today we brought tickets for a Hop on Hop off bus and set off around London. Saw the Sherlock Holmes Museum in Baker street, then changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. After that we toured Westminster Abbey, took a cruise down the Thames to Tower Bridge which we also toured, we walked up the towers, across the top and through the engine room. Caught the bus back to Trafalgar Square then walked back via Buckingham palace to our hotel.

Just had dinner at another pub near our room, there is plenty of places to choose from.
